Enchanted Forest Wedding at the Althorpe Estate

Hosted at the historic Althorpe Estate in Northampton; an enormous stretch of property once owned and lived in by Lady Diana Princess of Wales; the affair was situated in a large Marquee overlooking the entrance to Althorpe house. The interior was straight out of a scene from a midsummer night’s dream; a starry festoon lit canopy, mirrored tables decorated with an elegant combination of lavish Parisian renaissance tableware and forest trappings, delicately tied together with splashes of cream and lilac floristry.

It was a truly magical event, that encapsulated the essence of fairytale, and catapulted our minds back to childhood innocence and wonder from start to finish.

The cake was a nature-inspired masterpiece; adorned with cream roses and gold embellishments, and took centre stage atop a tree stump podium. Buckets of Laurent Perrier adorned each table, while sharply dressed waiters glided around with trays of canapes and expertly made classic cocktails. And when we say expertly made, we mean mixed in a flurry of bottles and shakers by the expert mixologists, like a glass and chrome libation tornado.

The food was provided by Sanjay foods and was nothing short of inspired; exotic tantalising Indian dishes were served along with a decadent selection of rices, breads and pickles; and of course there was a dessert table with a rainbow of sweets. It was a feast for all the senses of colour, flavour and spice.

The first dance could have been a scene from a Disney movie, as fireworks sprayed the corners of the dance floor with stars, and fog curled around the waltzing couple; a truly romantic and magical scene.

It was a truly magical event, that encapsulated the essence of fairy-tale, and catapulted our minds back to childhood innocence and wonder from start to finish.
